Chapter 214 Sub-Skills

\'I think I should increase it by 10. It also makes sense for me to use the remaining experience points to increase my stamina in order to be able to use my combo for a longer amount of time. \'

Raydon reflected for a moment, and after some deliberation, he began investing the experience points he had accumulated up to this point toward the prospect of gaining additional experience points in the very near future.

\'Let\'s see how many experience points it will take. \' He murmured and increased his spirit stat by ten points.

*DING*

\'\'133,150 experience points gone like this. \'\' Raydon let out a sigh, and then, before checking out the new sub-skill, he began to increase his stamina stat.

*DING*

*DING*

\'\'This is how it should be.\'\' He was amused to discover that he had only used 39,110 of his available experience points in order to gain an additional 20 stamina points.

\'Should I aim for 100? \' When he saw that, even with his stamina set to 80, he still had a lot of XP, he thought. He was also curious as to whether or not, once his stamina reached 100, he would unlock something new and special.

He said, "Let\'s try it out," and continued to raise his stamina until it reached a total of one hundred.

*DING*

*DING*

\'\'What? \'\'

Raydon yelled out in shock when he saw that he couldn\'t see the cost for the next increase after he had spent an additional 122,570 experience points and heard the system sounds of the +2 sub-skill he had received.

\'\'Is there a limit to how much more I can add?... Why? \'\'

When he suddenly realized that he couldn\'t increase his stamina any further, he felt a sudden sense of alarm. It seemed as though he could bring any one of his stats up to a maximum of one hundred by using his experience points.

"Also, there\'s no bonus for hitting 100?\'\'

Raydon felt a sense of disappointment as he realized that setting his stamina stat to 100 didn\'t seem to unlock any additional benefits beyond the two sub-skills he had already acquired.

It would not be enjoyable for him if there was a cap on the amount that each of his stats could be improved, because then there would be no room for growth. \'Whatever the case may be, I\'d better give it some thought later. \'

When he noticed that an increasing number of water slimes were beginning to gather around him, he began to think and eventually came to the conclusion that he should check the sub-skills he had acquired before taking any action.

<Spirit>

[+1 / Cost: 18620 XP]

-Mana Attunement (sub-skill): Increases mana regeneration by 100% and decreases the MP cost of all item skills by 20%.

-Damage Amplification (sub-skill): Increases the speed and damage of all attack-type item skills by 100%.

-Greater Mana (sub-skill): MP is increased by 2000.

-Spellbound Swiftness (sub-skill): All magic equipment skills with a current cooldown of 10 minutes or less now have further cooldown reductions of 50%.

- Twin Cast (sub-skill): Upon activation of a skill, there is a 10% probability of triggering it once again.

\'A multicast sub-skill? Wow, this is even better than the decrease in the cooldown. But does it use mana once more for the skill that is automatically triggered? \' Raydon grumbled as he read the description.

Every time he used a skill, there was a fantastic 10% chance that he would succeed in performing a double cast. In particular, if Raydon used his Explosive Swarm skill to call forth 40 bees, and with the 10% chance that this sub-skill would be triggered, then he would be able to call forth 80 bees all at once. The only issue that remained was determining whether or not the second activation also needed mana.

He gave it some thought, and after a while, he came to the conclusion that the answer might have come to him during the course of the fight. He then made the decision to look at the sub-skills he had earned for his stamina.

<Stamina>

[+1 / Cost: N/A]

-Life Regeneration (sub-skill): Doubles the body\'s rate of healing and enhances the effects of healing skills used on the body based on the stamina stat.

-Damage Reduction (sub-skill): Ignores 50% of all received damage.

-Minor Element Resistance (sub-skill): Body resistance to common elements is increased by 50%.

-Greater Health (sub-skill): HP is increased by 1000.

-Reinforce Items (sub-skill): Increases the durability of bound items by 200%.

-Self-Repair (sub-skill): Bound items gradually repair themselves over time, with the speed of repair increasing based on the user\'s stamina stat.

-Counterstrike (sub-skill) : Returns a fixed amount plus a percentage of your stamina after successfully countering an attack.

-Damage Conversion (sub-skill) : Whenever you take damage, 20% of that amount will be returned to your health.

-Die Hard (sub-skill) :  HP regeneration speed is multiplied by four when HP falls below 50%.

-Aura of Life (sub-skill) : Each chosen ally within a 1000-meter radius receives 25% of the user\'s HP regeneration.

\'\'Wow…These seem pretty awesome. \'\' Raydon was pleased with his newest sub-skills.

He was not only enhancing his defense with his increased stamina and new sub-skills; concurrently, the newly acquired sub-skills were almost as good as an item skill and versatile, with the possibility that they were even better.

\'Man…Isn\'t my title a cheat? Despite the fact that these are only passive skills.\' Raydon was forced to reflect. Even though he was an F-Rank, the skills he possessed as a result of his title alone were superior to those possessed by a typical F-Rank with the assistance of magic equipment.

Raydon, using his Death Sense skill, looked at the health bars of the three slimes that were trying to attack him and said. \'\' I am capable of inflicting damage without even making an attack. Hahaha \'\'

At this moment, even with just his Counterstrike sub-skill, he could kill them if he stood still, did nothing, and allowed them to attack him.
