Chapter 112 34: The Reality Of Battle
Chapter 112 Chapter 34: The Reality Of Battle
The battle became horrific... blood and guts desecrated the grass. No longer was it the beautiful field of greenery from before, with mud and crushed grass from the combat now stained in blood on all sides.
The knights and warriors of Dalton were decimated...
Sylvia was weakened, and so most of the work came from the templars and Lucifer\'s party, with Irina and Lephalia having killed more than twenty knights each, both of them now covered in blood as they continued to cover each other\'s weaknesses and crush the fleeing mercenaries.
Lucifer walked across the battlefield in a slight daze. He felt a strange sensation from the memories he saw and that strange existence that held him in place; he was like a robot, his body executing deadly attacks.
His spear danced with elegance, slicing limbs and piercing hearts as bodies dropped like flies—his bloodline activated to make them suffer intense pain as he devoured their blood, instantly, making their organs strive and turn into shrivelled husks.
"Ahhh!"
Lucifer\'s eyes noticed a small figure crouched in the corner... her small body was shaking... her legs trembling as she trembled in fear while clutching a dagger and a broken sword.
It was Layna... her blonde hair a mess, and her eyes filled with tears and in front of her was a templar missing his left arm, blood pouring from her wounds as her eyes looked at Lucifer.
The templare armour was covered in cuts and deep wounds while littered around the two women was a group of at least thirty men, Layna\'s desperate struggle evident... but protecting the templar was too much for her to handle, causing her to almost die in the process and now cower in guilt...
"Please... help... I can\'t do this..."
The young girl who had trained for a year and experienced her first large battle and saw many die... the terror of seeing blood and death, scared she was about to die...
Layna was about to beg Lucifer when she saw his red eyes... the scarlet runes on his body flickering like stars as he approached the templar... the woman was losing blood but could barely move as her eyes stared at Layna\'s small body.
"No... I can\'t... I will not die here!"
The woman grabbed her broken sword and tried to stand as Lucifer gently placed his hand on her neck, blood oozing from his hand as she looked at Layna with a gentle smile, "Forgive me, I am not a priest or a holy man... You fought so hard to defend her, and I will make sure she lives. Will you accept her as your first subordinate under me?"
Layna was confused, her eyes red from tears, but the next moment, she saw Lucifer\'s fangs extend... At this moment, her heart trembled as she felt they were beautiful... able to grant a blissful death before he bit into the neck of the raven-haired templar... the taste of her blood was delicious and fresh... it seemed she was a good girl and kept her purity.
Her body began to tremble and convulse as the mixture of Lucifer\'s blood and her own being drained completely began to transform her into a dhampir.
Layna watched as she saw the pale skin seem to restore some colour, as the hands of the templar suddenly wrapped around Lucifer\'s back, as she released a strange moan, like that of the girls when they were in his bedroom at night...
"So... obscene...." Layna muttered, but her eyes were filled with relief as the former templar\'s eyes opened once again, now dark red with a powerful feeling inside them.
The templar looked at Layna and smiled gently, her body feeling refreshed and stronger as if she had slept for years... Then she turned to her master, a blush formed on her cheeks as she began to stroke his fair cheeks, "Master, It felt amazing... Although I was taught to hate creatures of the dark... on the precipice of death... that feeling faded, and I only wished to remain in the land of the living."
"Now I feel amazing! I can feel magic for the first time in my life, and my blood feels warm... not cold... Thank you!"
Her gentle embrace caused Lucifer to recall losing his first friend in this world, causing a feeling to appear in his heart—it was like the first time he lost someone but managed to save them...
"Master... what\'s wrong?" His newfound subordinate saw Lucifer\'s eyes misty as Layna watched curiously before he seemed to recover. "You will now serve as Layna\'s Templar, protect her and help her become stronger. Do well, and I will reward you with my blood, fresh from my body."
With that, he stood up, looking at Layna, who was starting to recover and stood beside him, looking at the templar, who was now more beautiful and seductive. Her dark red eyes and sensual body were different, causing Layna\'s heart to beat wildly as she tried to hold Lucifer\'s arm...
"What?"
"That felt so obscene... and... I thought you..." Layna said shyly as Lucifer looked at her before sighing.
"Layna... She is now your subordinate, and you need to train together, protect each other and become strong. I hope you can become stronger because our world will only get darker from here..."
Lucifer spoke softly and saw her nod her head, standing beside the templar and walking together—the two women were now the same height and very attractive, causing many of the surviving knights and mercenaries to look at them.
However, their eyes exploded, blood lances swirling around his body, as Lucifer looked at the men with dark, jealous eyes. "Those are my women, you filthy wretches."
Layna blushed as the templar just laughed while holding Layna\'s shoulders and whispering in her ear, "Master is so protective... maybe if we both serve him well in bed, we can improve your standing, Captain..."
Layna\'s eyes widened as Lucifer ignored them—only a few templars survived and gathered while Irina, Marina and Lephalia returned—Marina was injured in the battle, but she was waiting for Lucifer to return to heal; her race was fast and agile; allowing her to retreat at speed.

The battle was mostly over... but the chaos was far beyond anything even Lucifer had experienced. He used to play fantasy games and imagined what a battle would look like and think it was cool or awesome...
But here... in the soggy, bloody mud, he was surrounded by hundreds of corpses... some burnt, others torn apart or missing limbs... Faces filled with horror... even dead racoon tribesmen.
Many lay face down in the blood, dirt, and mud, their corpses covered in blood and dirt... Lucifer saw the entire battlefield and began to take it in, wondering if these three hundred would become three thousand next time...
His heart was still not completely stone and immune to the death of people. Especially the ones that were killed because of a stupid goddess forcing the world to follow a certain script...
"I..."
A soft hand grasped his left, while a warm and sweaty hand grasped his right...
The silver-haired beauty Sylvia held his left hand, her cracked skin slowly healing as she now had almost no divinity, while Gwen was sweaty and her armour no longer silver, bathed in blood as she looked at her husband\'s gloomy face with a gentle smile.
"Lucifer... you did your best... thank you." Gwen hugged him gently while Sylvia looked at her before grabbing his other hand—she was annoyed he wasn\'t paying attention to her.
She was just happy to be sharing the same time as him finally.
"I need to become stronger... so my best is enough... This isn\'t enough—I let you all suffer and get hurt..."
"Lucifer... you don\'t need to get stronger alone. We will do it together!" Gwen smiled as Sylvia rolled her eyes, "Yes, yes, now let\'s go home and clean up."
The two beautiful women pulled Lucifer forward—Irina was nearby and ran over, hugging his chest as her bust pressed against his stomach... "Master..."
Gwen looked at Sylvia and sighed, "Looks like it\'s time for competition..."
"Hmm, looks that way." Sylvia just smiled as they dragged him forward while the survivors cheered, Layna looking at him with a pale face as the templar waved at him, seeming to enjoy looking at her master...
Lucifer didn\'t take part in their conversation as the girls began to hug and pull at his body, competing as if to fill their hearts with something more positive to forget the horrific battle they saw today.
His eyes locked with Serena, shimmering gold. It was obviously the goddess Celestia watching him with downcast eyes... The feeling was as if they were making a parting look before they went two different paths leading in opposite directions...
Does she know I am going to part ways with her in the future?
That I would rather have a force of my own than rely on someone who cannot always help me?
Is this the right choice...
There is no other way I can make the lives of these women more bright and happy without days like these with a battle that almost took my life and theirs...
Do I need my army to fight back against the growing threats?
Maybe a kingdom...
So I can protect them all, keep them safe and never feel this kind of sorrow again.
Forgive me, Celestia, but my path seems to be unable to take the same route as you are heading...
I refuse to submit to that being\'s control... and I will slay whoever they are so I can protect my beloved women. In deep thought, Lucifer spread his arms to hug the beautiful women around him as he looked away from Serena, having finally made his decision.
