Chapter 659 - He Is My Son, He Won’t Fall That Easily
As the nurses pushed the unconscious little one out of the room, Lu Zhaoyang’s heart was wrenched the moment she saw his bandaged head,.
She followed the moving bed with her eyes glued to her son.
Huo Yunting recomposed himself and patiently listened to the doctor’s prognosis before catching up to them.
Only when the nurse carried Xuxu up and placed him onto the sick bed that Lu Zhaoyang realized both his arms and legs were injured as well.
Her chest wound up tight, almost difficult to breathe as she lay forward, and kissed the little one on the forehead.
In the quiet ward, Lu Zhaoyang sat by the bed and not too long later, someone sent dinner over.
“You need to eat now,” Huo Yunting was insistent, and would not brook any dissent.
Seeing her being unresponsive, he asked, “You plan to stay on until he wakes up?”
“Yes.”
“And how are you supposed to have the energy to do that if you don’t eat? By the time he wakes up, you’ll collapse and just add up to the mess no? Open up, I’ll feed you.”
Lu Zhaoyang demurred for a moment before opening her mouth mechanically, before chewing and swallowing. Yet her eyes never left her child.
“The doctor said the anesthetics will last for another two hours or so, and even then he might not wake up right away.”
Huo Yunting said as he continued to feed her.
“Alright.”
After having a small bowl, Lu Zhaoyang could no longer eat anymore. She lay on the side of the bed motionlessly.
The smell of medication coming from Xuxu and the quiet atmosphere was lulling her to sleep.
Huo Yunting too only grabbed a few quick bites to restore his strength before putting the bowl down.
He then covered her with a blanket. He had plenty of things to settle today, but none were priorities.
Waiting for the little one to wake up was what most important now.
“Go ahead and sleep. I’ll wake you up when he gets up.” Huo Yunting whispered to her.
His low, husky voice was hypnotic, and her heavy eyes soon closed.
Seeing that she had fallen asleep, Huo Yunting bent down and kissed her on the cheeks before sitting by the side of the bed, looking at the little one who had been so active much earlier.
This was his son, and his blood flowed within him, he would not fall that easily!
Even as he thought that, his heart ached.
In the corridor outside the ward, Lin Yazhi lay against the white wall, her head drooping low as she continued to blame herself.
Huo Li was beside her, cigarette in hand, and he had almost lit up a few times already.
“You had done a good thing today, don’t be so down, Xuxu’s fine, and it’s not all on you.”
As for the perpetrator, that brazen woman, she had long been arrested.
Ming Yue was literally a crazy harlot now, and once Brother Ting has time, he would deal with it once and for all.
“It’s my fault, if I had taken Xuxu along with me, this would not have happened,” she murmured.
“Are you stupid? Ming Yue was set on killing Xuxu, and if you had brought him with you, even you might have gotten caught in this, not to mention other innocent lives as well.”
“...” Lin Yazhi shrugged meekly, before sighing.
“Alright, I’ll treat you to supper. Look alive, and accept reality.”
He kept his cigarette and pulled her by the wrist, as if trying to drag her away from the hospital.
