Chapter 652 [Bonus Chapter]Day UNKNOWN: Party, Part X: Reunion
I came holding two boxes in my hands, with drinks slowly drifting in the air in front of me, as I used \'Telekinesis\'. I did it mostly for fun, since I hand my powers back, I really wanted to use them. I quickly realized how much I missed them.
Tihana was quite surprised since she no longer knew what I could do. I just smiled at her and thought about a table and additional chair. Both of those things emerged from the ground straight in front of her, which made her jump on her little stool.
I chuckled as I placed the boxes on the new table and then sat down placing the cups on top of the pizza.
- Go ahead - I encouraged her.
She smiled in response, and took one of the drinks, then took a big sip through the straw. The familiar taste made her happy.
- You know... The first time we met we ate pizza... But you probably don\'t remember, do you?
She shook her head.
- No.
- It was a weird meeting. I was a crow, and you tried to feed me with some granola bar - I chuckled again as the memories flashed through my mind.
She didn\'t really know how to react, which brought me back to reality. I cleared my throat awkwardly and grabbed my drink, then opened one of the boxes and picked a slice of pizza. My mouth immediately started watering, and a gulped my spit loudly, which made her laugh.
- You really missed this, didn\'t you? - she asked.
- Yeah. I really, really missed junk food out there - I said, and shoved the piece into my mouth.
It probably wasn\'t that great, but for me, it tasted incredible. It\'s hard to describe. It made me lose my composure for a moment as I started shoving slice after slice into my mouth. Tihana just observed in shock.
It took a while for me to realize how she was looking at me.
- Sh-shory - I said with a full mouth.
- I guess eating is also your superpower - she said smiling awkwardly, and then picked a slice herself.
I swallowed a mouthful. It was quite painful as it went down my throat.
- I just... I missed this a lot - I attempted to defend myself.
- It\'s ok. I know that it probably was a horrible experience. Genusha told us that some aliens tried to even kill you there.
- Yeah... For you too... You went to space looking for somebody you didn\'t even remember.
She smiled awkwardly again.
- Without you things changed in Arc - she said. - Maybe I have no memories of you, but I know how it was, and how it is right now. People are like marionettes in her hands, and they don\'t even know it. It made me sick. I couldn\'t stand it when I found out.
I nodded.
- Hopefully, we will be able to change that - said Daniel, as he, without any invitation, marched inside.
He took a slice of pizza, and with a full mouth said to me:
- We made some calculations, and we should have at least a month. If we are lucky, maybe even more. She can travel fast, but it will take some time for her to really get to the bottom of what happened. We left a trail and our crocodile friend will pursue it. This should get us some time, but we don\'t really know how much. And even if she goes straight to Arc, it will be difficult to muster force big enough to look for us. That could even take years, depending on how strong are those dead aliens, but we believe that before she would take such action, she might want to start messing with people we care for.
I nodded slowly.
- Take a rest, and from tomorrow we really have to do our best to somehow make it possible to kill her - he added.
I nodded again. In the corner of my eye, I caught Genusha walking outside of the building we were occupying. Although I wanted to spend some time with Tihana, since we didn\'t see each other for so long, I also was curious about that man. He clearly was heavily connected within the resistance, but I needed to know more since it could have an impact on the upcoming conflict.
My fake daughter without her memories of me seemed so different. I found it hard to even attempt to rebuild our relationship since I really didn\'t even know how to begin.
I glanced at her, and she smiled awkwardly in response. This evoked a thought in my mind that maybe it would be better if I focused on getting rid of the high queen, and bringing Tihana\'s memories back.
- I-i... I need to take care of something - I said to her, and just left the building.
I briefly caught Daniel shrugging his shoulders as he was facing her, probably in response to her silent question, then he want to take my seat and enjoy the food. I took the drink with me, more because it was just in my hand than with some kind of premeditation.
After I got outside I started heading towards Genusha, who was right next to the Tree, looking at the strange device carefully.
- You need to touch it - I said from afar.
This caused him to turn around, and look at me. It was just a brief moment since he immediately turned back to the Tree and following my advice placed his hand on the sphere. He immediately took it back, surprised by what happened in his mind.
Right after that he did his second attempt and froze in place checking the options. During that short period, I closed the distance.
- Do you mind if we talk? - I asked him, pulling him back to reality.
- No, not at all - he said, turning towards me, this time properly. - I happily answer your questions.
- Good, because I have plenty of those.
- Well, I have mine too - he replied, and smiled at me a little. - So maybe we do a little exchange?
